Introduction
Noisy Mind ("we", "us", or "our") is an iOS voice notes app developed by MeltinBit. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Noisy Mind, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive and store the following information in our secure database:
- Your Apple-provided email address (which may be a private relay address if you choose to hide your real email)
- A unique identifier associated with your Apple account
- Your account creation date and last activity timestamp
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or any other personal information beyond what is listed above.
Credits and Usage Data
To provide the credit-based service, we store on our servers:
- Your current credit balance
- A history of credit purchases (pack purchased, date, amount)
- A history of AI operations performed (type of operation, credits consumed, timestamp) — without any reference to the content of your notes
Email Addresses from the Website
If you submit your email address on our website to be notified of the app launch, that address is stored in our database and used solely for that purpose. You can request its removal at any time by contacting us.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Audio recordings: Your voice recordings are transmitted directly to our server solely to be forwarded to the transcription service. They are never stored, logged, or retained on our infrastructure in any form.
- Transcribed text: The text produced by transcription and AI processing is never stored on our servers. It exists only on your device.
- Payment data: All in-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive, store, or process payment card numbers, Apple ID credentials, or any financial information.
How Your Data Is Used
We use the information we collect exclusively to:
- Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
- Track and manage your credit balance
- Provide and improve the Noisy Mind service
- Notify you of the app launch (website signups only)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or behavioral analysis. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
Apple Sign-In
Authentication is handled through Apple's Sign In with Apple service. Any data processing by Apple is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
OpenAI
Audio recordings are forwarded to OpenAI's API for transcription (Whisper) and text processing (GPT-4). Under OpenAI's API usage policies, data submitted via the API is not used to train OpenAI models by default, and OpenAI does not retain API inputs beyond the time required to process the request. For more information, refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy and API data usage policies.
Apple In-App Purchases (StoreKit)
All credit pack purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We receive only a confirmation of the purchase entitlement, not any payment details. Any data processing by Apple in connection with purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Storage and Security
Your account data and usage history are stored on our servers hosted on Hetzner Cloud infrastructure in the European Union. We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account information and usage history for as long as your account is active.
To request the deletion of your account and all associated data, please contact us at our support page. We will process your request within 30 days.
Email addresses collected via the website notification form are retained until you request removal or until the purpose for which they were collected is fulfilled.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to restriction: You may request that we limit the processing of your data.
- Right to data portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: You may object to the processing of your data.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our support page.
The legal basis for processing your data is the performance of the contract between you and MeltinBit (i.e., providing the Noisy Mind service) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in maintaining the security and integrity of the service.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Children's Privacy
Noisy Mind is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
